People I look up to

My hero is my dad. He was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2003 and never gave up. He always said he'd be healed "in God's time, not my time." He got his lung transplant on June 30, 2007. He did well with it until he contracted mold in his lung. My dad passed on February 2, 2009 and we had services on his birthday, February 5, 2009. He is missed so much and I can't wait to see him again.

Books that moved me

I love to read, but there are still books that move me. One of them was actually the last Harry Potter book. I cried over the losses in that book. I am most moved by bible verses that speak to me on a personal level. Other books that have helped me to get by are In the Meantime, by Iyanla VanZant, The House on Hope Street, by Danielle Steel, the Power of a praying wife. The list is long.

Music I listen to

I love all country music and 80's rock. My favorite country artist is Martina McBride, My favorite 80's band is Poison, and I am an avid fan of American Idol. Carrie Underwood and David Cook are totally awesome!

TV shows I watch

American Idol, Lipstick Jungle, House, Bones.

Movies I like

Gone in 60 Seconds, Devil Wears Prada, Pirates of the Carribean 1,2, and 3, all Harry Potter movies, Lord of the rings trilogy, Sweet Home Alabama, Legally Blonde, Walk the Line, The Perfect Storm, and many others. There are just too many to name!

Interesting facts about me

I am the mother of 3 wonderful children... 2 sons age 13 and 3, and a daughter that is 8. I have been happily married for over 9 years. I love to spend time with family and friends, read, scrapbook, surf the web, go to mass on Sundays, and watch movies. I used to walk six miles a day, but now due to all my back issues I can't even walk 10 minutes without pain. At 34 this is a hard thing to accept. I'm hoping to make new friends that understand what I'm going through.

Groovy quotes

I'm just waiting to find out what all the different diagnoses will mean for me. Will I be able to have surgery to fix the problems with my back, or am I just going to be on a downward spiral until I'm paralyzed. Only God has the answers. I'm not a patient person, so the waiting is killing me. I wish this were a speedier process. In the mean time I have to sit and worry over if I'll get approved for my disability from SSDI. My understanding is...
